We went to see Arsenic and Old Lace (the play – not the movie) at the Idaho Shakespeare Festival Saturday evening with Em’s Mom. It was good play – very professional and well done.
I wasn’t too sure about going as I tend to say away from all things Shakespeare (out of principle). On the other hand, I do enjoy going to non-Shakespeare plays with friends as long as the venue isn’t too large. As such, I was pleasantly surprised with the Shakespeare Festival’s Arsenic and Old Lace.
- First off – the venue wasn’t as large as I remember it (I did see The Two Gentlemen of Verona there five to seven years ago).
- Secondly, the play was NOT Shakespeare – even though the Shakespeare Festival produced it.
- Third, Arsenic and Old Lace was hilarious!!!
Overall, it was a wonderful evening seeing the ‘cultured’ side of Idaho. (yes – there is such a thing!)
